Great piece of advice. Our office has an open floor layout, which is probably good for screaming toddlers since that’s who I seem to be working amidst in the middle of the workday. Getting a stroke of genius or inspiration becomes next to impossible in the scenario and I schedule myself a ‘vendor meeting’ which is basically a ten-minute brisk solo walk around the perimeter of the office to come back calmer and with hopefully an idea or thought starter.
