I try the Sandwich technique when it comes to giving advice.

Start with a positive.

Move to the negative feedback.

End with appreciating the effort again.

A sandwich of good-bad-good news to leave the coworker/ employee with something positive to remember, which hopefully helps her have positive feelings towards action on the feedback as well.
